Authentic World War II US Army Air Forces Type A-9 Intermediate Flight Trousers, manufactured by H. Bernstein & Co. (Order No. 44-10096). These heavy-duty flight pants feature a durable cotton canvas shell with a thick, warm alpaca pile lining designed for high-altitude cold weather protection. Key features include a button fly closure, suspender buttons at the waist, ankle adjustment tabs, and multiple storage options including thigh patch pockets and rear flap pockets. The original specification tags are present. Condition: Fair vintage condition. These trousers show significant signs of history and use. There is a large seam separation/split on the side hip area that exposes the lining and will require repair. Additionally, there is a puncture hole in the leg and scattered reddish-brown staining/spotting throughout. The fabric has a heavy patina and general soiling consistent with field use.
